Description

Previously published as a 13-card indie deck, this expanded 44-card oracle deck depicts African goddesses using unretouched photos of "real" women that is sure to appeal to users of the African Goddess Rising Oracle deck.

The Black Goddess Within Oracle deck changes the narrative of Black bodies, Black women, and Black people through the distribution of images of Goddesses from all over Africa. By illustrating the divinity, power, and purpose inherent in the Black lived experience, these images illuminate Black humanity and beauty while inspiring deep insight.

To create the deck the author took a group of Black women through a transformative process while on retreat, which culminated in a photo shoot of each participant meeting the Goddess. These Goddess photos were given an aura of magic, medicine, and mysticism to inspire and provide images of positivity and change.

Writes Giavanni: "I created the Black Goddess Within Oracle Deck to be both a portal for connection with Spirit/God/Universe and a tool that would help the reader develop intuition around creating, maintaining, and protecting their self-care practice. Use this deck when you desire divine inspiration from the stories of the Goddesses from the continent of Africa."

About the Author

Dr. Giavanni Washington comes from a long line of educators, moonshine makers, and medicine women. She is also the creator of the indie 13-card Black Goddess Within Oracle Deck. With more than 1,000 copies sold, this is the only oracle deck that features photos of Black women embodying the Goddesses from Africa.

Dr. Washington helps women harvest the wisdom in their ancestral lineages so that they can curate a legacy of healing. Repairing ancestral ruptures allows her clients to break harmful intergenerational cycles, cultivate a rich inner landscape, and be in relationship with their ancestors as sources of protection, healing, and guidance.

When she's not talking with the ancestors, she's out hiking with her husband, son, and pup Pumpkin.
