Something is amiss in the city of Akkron, and Wren is determined to uncover the truth. When she discovers that her teacher is a member of a secret group called The Dark Cloud, she knows she must take matters into her own hands. In a daring move, she opens an illegal portal to Earth. When Wren returns home, she realizes she's not alone. A boy named Graham has been inadvertently transported back to Akkron with her, and she has no way of sending him back.

Graham had dreams of becoming a doctor and playing basketball, but those dreams are now a distant memory. Will he be able to adjust to a world of dragons, giants, and trolls?
